MAHSA HAKIMI | FOUNDER

Ms. Hakimi’s years of business experience fused with her passion for the arts have uniquely positioned her to offer her clients, innovative entrepreneurs and artist alike, the commitment to protect their creative talent and business interests. She has devoted herself to creating a progressive private practice without the high cost of a large law firms.

While committed to serving the interest of artists and innovative entrepreneurs since the opening of her Firm in 2002, Ms. Hakimi also served as the Senior In-House Counsel for the Amidi Group of companies, an international conglomerate consisting of several domestic and international subsidiaries with operations in over ten countries from 2003 until 2010. As part of the senior management team she was in charge of all legal aspects of business, corporate, employment and general operation of all entities.

Additionally, from 2003 to 2014 she also served as the General Counsel for Amidzad/Plug & Play Tech Center, a leading Silicon Valley startup technology incubator and an early-stage investment firm. As the lead attorney, she was responsible for structuring, leading, overseeing and advising the partners on the Firm’s investments in 500+ portfolio companies including Dropbox, Zoosk, Lending Club, Webs, CreditSesame, Vivu, Bix and Danger.

In addition to her business experience, Ms. Hakimi has served as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University School of Law since 2003 teaching various intellectual property courses, including Trademark Moot Court Competition and Art & the Law. She also presents workshops and lectures on copyrights, trademarks and licensing for various art and non-profit organizations. She has served on the board of various non-profit organizations throughout the years and currently serves on the Advisory Board of UCSF Alliance Health Project.

Ms. Hakimi is an avid traveler, devotee of Rumi and Hafez, and a passionate collector of world music. She is a zealous fan of visual and performing arts and maintains an active involvement in the art world, both locally and internationally.
